The WTLTX through beam transceiver was designed for use in systems requiring reliable through beam sensing at resolutions of less than 1mm. The system comprises a transmitter and receiver module which use a visible red laser beam. Operating at an extremely low total burden current of less than 20ma and operating at any voltage between 5vdc and 24vdc. The output is an open collector configuration rated at 100mA.
This device was originally designed to detect breaks in a wire winding facility for the detection of wire diameters of between 0.2mm to 2.2mm. It has also been used in the precision alignment process of frame construction and as a safety device to prevent physical access to moving machinery during operation.
